International Jewellery London Announces the IJL Inspire Seminar Programme

The global jewellery industry gather in London, the creative capital of the world, at the UK’s Leading Jewellery Trade Event

London, 2018: From 3D printing with precious metals to lab-grown diamonds, and from the essentials of gemmology to human rights in the jewellery supply chain, International Jewellery London (IJL) – the global meeting place for the jewellery industry – has today announced the full IJL Inspire seminar programme.

 

IJL Inspire seminars will open the stage to discuss key trends and drivers that are shaping the international jewellery and watch industry today, while offering invaluable networking opportunities to jewellery retailers and suppliers from around the world.

 

The IJL Inspire highlights include: explorations of current trends such as SS19; co-created and bespoke jewellery; bridal trends; future-focussed sessions including reimagining the future of jewellery retail and the potential of precious metal 3D printing; practical sessions including transforming the high street store, thinking like a customer in a digital world, getting to grips with Instagram, photographing jewellery – and much more.

 

As the leading trade event for the international jewellery industry, IJL attracts 10,000 visitors from over 50 counties, with more than 550 exhibitors taking part from 2-4 September 2018.

Revealed! The Top British Designers Starring in New Uniquely UK Exhibit at IJL 2018

Ute Decker, Theo Fennell, and Steven Webster are among 13 top British designers who will showcase their outstanding work at the NEW Uniquely UK exhibit at IJL 2018. 

An expert team at Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council carefully selected the thirteen designers as part of Uniquely UK, a campaign to highlight the amazing skills of UK silversmiths, goldsmiths, jewellery designers and industry professionals from John O’ Groats to Land’s End.

The showcase will feature individuals who demonstrate the fantastic skills and design creativity that the UK jewellery industry is known for around the world.

They are: Ute Decker, Tomasz Donocik, David Fowkes, Theo Fennell, Gill Galloway-Whitehead, Sarah Herriot, Ornella Iannuzzi, Andrew Lamb, Shaun Leane, Tom Rucker, Leo de Vroomen, Stephen Webster and Bobby White.

The magnificent pieces will be on display on Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council’s stand at IJL. Award winning jewellery from the 2018 Goldsmiths’ competition will also be showcased and presented in a catwalk show on Monday 3rd September from midday to 1 PM.

This event is open to press, exhibitors and visitors and will also mark the formal launch of Goldsmiths’ 2018/19 Uniquely UK competition.

IJL to Shine a Spotlight on Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter

International Jewellery London (IJL), the UK’s leading trade event for the international jewellery industry, will host a Spotlight on Birmingham in association with Birmingham School of Jewellery and supported by Cookson Gold and Weston Beamor.

The new feature at IJL will provide a spotlight on a UK or world jewellery hub each year.

This year Spotlight on Birmingham exhibit will be opened by The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Yvonne Mosquito, on Sunday 2 September.

It is a collaboration of industry, education and commerce; from the Assay Office Birmingham to the manufacturers, designers, wholesalers and retailers and will be chance to showcase the city with 1000 trades role within the jewellery industry.

Work from the Birmingham School of Jewellery will be on show to demonstrate the diversity of their talent and educational reach – from horology to 3D printed jewellery.

It will include a supporting seminar programme celebrating the past, present and future of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter and its contribution to the global jewellery industry. This will take place on Monday 3 September entitled Birmingham: A City of 1000 Trades – Focus on Jewellery Careers in The Inspiration Theatre at IJL from 15:30-16:15.
