At 10am today International jewellery London, the global meeting place for the jewellery industry, got underway! Jewellery professionals from around the world flooded in, all here to see heritage and the cutting edge combine through innovation, design, beauty, skill and vision. Here is a look inside IJL 2018.
Emerging UK designers…
First-up today was a look at emerging UK talent, when 6 up-and-coming designers, selected as winners by the National Association of Jewellers and IJL, had the chance to showcase their work in the prestigious Kickstarter Design Gallery.
We caught-up with one of the winners, Ruth Chipper of Ruth Mary Jewellery to find out more about the initiative and her business.
Business, business, business….
Day one of IJL once again proved to be the place that brings together the right people, at the right time in the right place to grow UK and international jewellery businesses. The halls were a hive of activity throughout the day, here is a look at just some of the action.
A trend towards bigger coloured stones…
Today’s visitors were treated to an all-encompassing range of inspiration and ideas across IJL’s comprehensive education programme and array of innovative exhibitors. Early today we caught up with Jai Khandelwal of Sunshine Exim to find out what’s new in the coloured stone market, here is what he had to say.
IJL welcomes Miss Universe GB 2018…
Earlier today IJL welcomed Miss Universe GB 2018, Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers to the show floor. Dee-Ann stopped by the Cara Jewellery stand (D145) to tell us more about how they work together.
