New features for IJL 2018; The UK’s International Jewellery Trade Show

London, 18 July 2018: International Jewellery London (IJL), the UK’s leading trade event for the international jewellery industry, will return to Kensington Olympia from 2-4 September 2018 with an expanded events programme, and will showcase the latest ranges from over 550 high end, finished jewellery manufacturers and designers, and loose gemstones and retail services suppliers.

Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter comes to London
Craftsmanship and design are at the heart of International Jewellery London in 2018. IJL will also focus its attention on one of the UK’s most inspiring and historic centres of jewellery excellence: Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. There will be an exhibit, hosted by Birmingham School of Jewellery, talks, features and more celebrating the history, present and future of the Quarter and its significance to UK jewellery industry.

A window on retail
Retail and customer experience will be centre stage at IJL this year with retail windows on display around the champagne bar. IJL will announce retailers and designers who will be showcasing the art of window dressing shortly. IJL will also be exploring digital retail opportunities with seminars including, “Think Like a Customer in a Digital World”.

IJL Seminar streams
The relaunched IJL Inspire Seminar Programme will frame the debate at the UK’s jewellery trade fair. It will open the stage to discuss issues that matter and trends that shape jewellery and watches from across the industry. IJL has welcomed submissions from everyone across the jewellery ecosystem from emerging design talents to established brands, with retailers, buyers, designers, gem dealers, Assay offices and suppliers. Seminars announced to date include At the Heart of Luxury – Keeping the Cachet at any Price?, Understanding Coloured Diamonds and Happy Exits: Succession Planning for your Business

IJL Live
For the first time, IJL will record interviews with exhibitors and visitors and features from the show floor. This will be centred around the IJL Live studio on the Grand Hall Gallery. Interviews will be broadcast via IJL Live’s YouTube channel, Instagram and other social media. Exhibitors can request interview footage to share on their own channels.

Growing Chinese PR opportunities
IJL has launched a Weichat channel to reach more Chinese jewellery industry including buyers and designers. This will include content from IJL, their exhibitors and other UK jewellery industry news and views. Inspire Magazine
IJL is producing a glossy magazine during the show to promote jewellery.

Bridal showcase
There will be a new Bridal showcase and trends report on the Catwalk at IJL, in addition to a seminar focused on this important theme.
